Ekaterina Dafovska is the Olympic Champion in Biathlon in Nagano 1998, and also one of the most successful Bulgarian athletes in winter sports. She is in the world elite since 1993 until the ending of her sports career in 2006.
Ekaterina Dafovska has participated in four Olympics, where besides the golden medal, she has other prestigious final positions: one 4th place, one 5th place, two 8th places and two 10th places.
As a participant in eight world women championships she won two bronze medals, one 4th place, one 5th place, five 6th places, two 7th places, one 8th place and two 10th places.
When she participated in European championships she won one golden, one silver, and one bronze medal.
At the beginning of her sports career she participated in girls’ championships, where she won one silver and one bronze medal.
At the final standings for the World Cup she’s also got prestigious positions – once she finished in 4th place, twice - in 11th place, once in 16th , and once in 19th place. At the arrangement of the different disciplines in the qualifications for the small world cups she’s got 2nd and 3rd place.
She’s also won four stages of the World Cup, as well as three 2nd places, four 3rd places, two 4th places, six 5th places, four 6th places, one 7th place, four 8th places, four 9th places, and two 10th places.
In 2003 she became the winner on the “Trophy” Cup, at the World Cup.
Ekaterina Dafovska is a multiple champion and prize winner of the Grand Prix in Russia, as well as the Balkan and Republican champion and holder of the “Bulgaria” Cup.
Sportswoman number 1 of the Balkan Peninsula and Bulgaria in 1998, and sportswoman number 7 in 2003.
She is a holder of two “Ikar” spotrs prizes, and many more prizes and titles of fame.
